Crazy Witchcraft Facts

Hey Guys:) On Thursday last week I went to a lecture on witchcraft, and oh my God was it interesting. It was all about the history of witchcraft (how it came about and stuff), when it was most popular, why it was women who were mainly seen as witches, and modern day witches. However, I didn't get much chance to make notes on what I was learning unfortunately, but as promised I've found out some awesome facts anyway, and here they are.......

1. We don't know where the word witch came from.

2. Many believed that a witches spell could be broken by scratching her face and drawing blood.

3. In the Salem Witch Trials of 1692, 19 people were killed because they were accused of being witches.

4. A way people tested whether you were a witch was to stick your hand in a fire, if you burned then you were not a witch but had a burnt hand, if you didn't burn then you were accused of being a witch and were hung.

5. There are several references to witchcraft in the Old Testament.

6. Contrary to belief witches do not believe in a Devil, and they never have.

7. In the 17th century around 78% of people accused of witchcraft were women.

8. James I wrote a book on witchcraft entitled Daemonologie, as he was fascinated by the subject.

And there we go! I hope you found that interesting and that I've inspired you to do some research of your own. I find the whole concept of witchcraft fascinating, and I really want to look further into what modern day witches still believe in and how they practice it. Anyway, if you have any interesting facts you want to share, just leave a comment, but until next week, byeeeeeeeeee:)

Objects I'd Be Lost Without

Hey Guys:) There are lots of things I use in my everyday life that I couldn't live without, and if you took them away from me I literally don't know how I'd function. So here they are...

1. The microwave
I use the microwave everyday to make my morning porridge and I don't know what i would eat if I couldn't make it, I guess I'd just have to brave making it on the hob.

2. My iPod
I have a dog whom I have to walk twice a day, once before sixth form, and once afterwards. That's like an hour a day walking the dog and I would be so bored if I didn't have my iPod. I actually love going out if I know that I'm going to be on my own with my music, but it is always a tad embarrassing when you're singing aloud/ dancing and you realize there's someone walking behind you *cringes*.

3. My MASSIVE cushion
Okay, so this is a recent addition to my bedroom but I literally don't know how I functioned before without it D:.  It is sooooo useful. I use it to lean on when I'm on my laptop on my bed, when there are too many family members round it's comfy to sit on on the floor, AND it's excellent to sleep with.

4. Muller Corner Yogurts and Bagels
mmmmmmmm, I eat these like everyday because they are both so tasty, enough said.

5. My Friends
I realize this is very cringey, but so far I've been quite materialistic, and I realize how lucky I am to be able to have all of these things, but yeah, I'm going to throw my friends I here because I've had quite a few issues before and they are always so helpful and I know that by being there for them that they will also always be there for me. There we go, boring bit over.

6. Tumblr & YouTube.
We've been through this before, I'm a very sad person and I don't have a very thrilling social life (shown by the fact that I spent 12 hours last Thursday doing a jigsaw puzzle:P)

7. Blue Biro Pens
It sounds VERY stupid but I only write in blue biro, never black. I always find blue looks so much better and I can't revise from black so I always have to re-write my notes if I forget my blue pen and no-one has a spare!

8. Skirts
Ew, trousers.

So there are the main things I couldn't live without (Sorry if some if them were a bit typical). This was a little bit rushed, so I apologize, I'm just verrrrrrrrry busy this week. I'm going to a lecture on witchcraft later on this week, which should be very interesting, so next week I'm hoping to do a what I've learnt post, I hope that sounds good!? Come back next Monday if you wish to see that then:) for now, byeeeeeeeeeeeee:))

CHRISTMAS BUCKET LIST REVIEW!

Hey Guys:) Sorry for the late post this week, I've had my AS mocks the past few days so I've been a busy, busy bee! But I'm officially free until Monday, when I have to go back to Sixth Form (boooo). So a few weeks ago I shared with you my bucket list of what I wanted to do over the Christmas holidays. There were 15 things on the list, and I tried my very hardest, but I only managed to achieve 9 of them, which is annoying because I wanted to do so much better! So I'm going to work through my list with you and let you know which ones I achieved...

1. Have a Disney film day:
This I did achieve, I watched 5 Disney films: The Fox and the Hound, Tarzan, Mulan, Aladdin and the Little Mermaid. These were the Disney films I loved as a child so it was great to go back and watch them to remember how great they were, but it was also suprising how much more I now understood about the films!

2. Make an Oreo Milkshake:
I did this too! and boy was it THE tastiest thing EVER!

3. Go and see the Hobbit in the Cinema:
I did this on New Years Day after 1 hours sleep, but even so it was an amazing film. Usually when films are that long you get a bit bored part way through, but I was so gripped that even though my body desperately wanted me to just fall asleep my eyes were just wide open and glued to the screen the whole time.

4. Get 5 new followers on Tumblr:
I got 10 new followers, so yaaaay, I'm an over achiever;)

5. Watch every James Bond film:
I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't watch a single one. After my Disney film day I literally never had two hours spare to sit down and watch a film! My holidays were honestly jam packed.

6. Complete 4 more pages of my Wreck This Journal:
In my Wreck This Journal I have a blue biro theme so that's why these pages aren't very colourful. I completed the 'Fill this page with circles', 'Deface a photo you hate', 'doodle on the instructions' and ' doodle in the margins' pages.

7. Have a fun night in with friends:
So I'm going to count New Years Eve as this one. I had a few of my friends round and to have a few drinks, play some games, and to welcome the new year in. Here are my friends snapchatting everyone:

8. Climb a Tree:
I have a field at the end of my road which has a lot of trees and a brook at the bottom, one of the trees is quite easy to climb up high on, so got quite far up. When I was younger me and friends always used to go and climb trees, so it was quite nice bringing all the memories back:)

9. Breakfast at Taybarns:
Nooooo, this didn't happen:(( To be fair though I ate so much over Christmas I don't think at any point I could have stomached an 'all you can eat' breakfast buffet.

10. Make banana pancakes:
mmmmmm. I had this as my Christmas Eve supper and it was super tastey!

11. Buy a onesie:
Okay, so technically I didn't buy a onsie, but I did get one for Christmas, so I'm going to count it. It is a mouse and it is now my favourite item of clothing<3

12, 13, 14 & 15. Get the train somewhere new, Put my shelf up, Take a new profile picture & Read the DaVinci Code.
Okay, so I managed to do none of these:( My shelf is still currently resting by my bookcase:

My profile picture is still:
(All blurry and horrible)
(My selfie game is just not up to scratch)

And the DaVinci Code is still sat by my bed waiting to be read:

And that was all that was on my list! I hope you enjoy these kind of blog posts and that I haven't been boring you too much with my life:P I hope you all had a good Christmas & New Year, and the back to school/work blues aren't getting you down! Sorry again for the late post, until Monday, byeeeeeeee:)
