MY AUTUMN ESSENTIALS!

Hey Guys:) So I know this isn't a very original idea and this isn't exactly a fashion blog (It's an everything blog!), but I absolutely LOVE clothes and I have a mini addiction to buying them as well, so as I post a variety of different things I thought a good 'Autumn Essentials' post would fit in nicely as it starts to get colder here in the UK! This week I thought I'd show you what I think everybody needs in their Autumn wardrobe, this style may not be to everyone's taste, but they are things that I love and wear everyday, and things that I think look great on everyone...

1. Pinafores:

I think having a range of pinafores in your wardrobe is absolutely essential, as it means you can mix and match with lots of shirts and jumpers to make so many different outfits. Pinafores are extra good for the cold seasons as you can layer so much underneath and put coats on top to stop you getting cold, whilst maintaining a cute appearance, AND you can also keep them out for summer^.^

2. Brogues:

Everyone seems to think the only shoes you can wear in winter are boots and wellies, and while I love a nice pair of boots my opinion is that aside from sandals or flip flops, anything is suitable for winter. EVERYONE was wearing brogues a few years back, but you don't see as many around anymore:( However, I still love them as I think they match anything. You can wear them with skirts/dresses (tights or no tights, but remember it is winter), jeans, etc. They look really cute with a pair of frilly socks or woolen tights, but you can still make them look great even if that's not your style, AND they look good on guys or girls. I also love how you can get them with or without heels, so they are suitable for any occasion!

Whilst we're on the subject of shoes I just want to also put it out there how much I am loving Dr Marten style shoes at the moment. I personally love just plain black ones as they are safe and go with anything. I know real Dr Martens are very expensive, but you pick pick up look-a-likes very cheap off the internet, or I recently got some for £12 from Primark, and they have lasted immensely well:

3. Jumpers:

Wow that sounded plain and simple. It pretty much is though. I think that anyone can make pretty much any jumper work. My absolute favourite style at the moment is a shirt and jumper with a simple necklace (I'm lucky enough to have my grandma's old sovereign which I wear with practically everything). You can wear it with jeans for a really casual look, but I'm not a big fan of trousers, so my personal fave is with a nice denim or floral skirt.

How cool does this wardrobe look though!?!...

Christmas jumpers are always a win as well:

4. Boyfriend Coat:

I think this style of coat is great as you can put them on over any outfit without really worrying about whether it will match. They make you look elegant yet casual, so are great for any occasion whilst keeping you nice and toasty warm. I like how they only have a few,if not one, button as it means they are easy to put on in a hurry but are still very practical. Many people at the moment are raving about light pink, and apparently a light pink boyfriend coat is a must have, but I personally don't like them, but lots of people dp, so if you enjoy sticking to trends then go for it! I'm personally still on the lookout for a nice tartan coat in this style, so any suggestions would be greatly welcomed!

5. Woolen Tights:

Ahhhhh, I think any woolen tights look great! They can be patterned or any colour, but when matched with a simple skirt or dress and a pair of brogues or loafers they look great!

So there we go, that's my autumn essentials done. Now I know in autumn that people like to wear trousers as it's getting colder. Like I said above I don't really like wearing trousers as I find them quite uncomfortable as my legs feel trapped whereas when I'm wearing a skirt and tights they feel much more, for want of better words, 'free'. But anyway on the off day that I do wear trousers I tend to go for acid wash/ skinny jeans. I find they're are great for anyone as they can match a more 'grungy' look with a leather jacket and boots or creepers (I personally LOVE creepers), but you can also just match it with a jumper or coat for a more cute wintery feel. And that's it. Leave a comment telling me what your autumn favourites are, I'd love to hear about what you're wearing! Byeeeeeee:)

All the pictures in this post were from Tumblr. Go search Tumblr to find more winter styles, but don't go on for too long, because I promise you WILL become addicted;))

MY TAKE ON THIS WEEK'S TOP TEN- OCT 21ST 2013

Hey Guys:) So today I was meant to be going on a days trip to Dublin and looking at all the sites and doing a little bit of shopping. But because we could get no one to look after the dog (as we would have been out for nearly 24 hours) we unfortunately couldn't go, and along with that went my plans for this weeks blog-my tour of Dublin:( Soooooo, instead I'm going to go through the top ten singles this week and give you my views. I've never really been a fan of chart music because I'm rather prejudiced against it, thinking its all rap songs and very chavvy. But recently I've found myself listening to the charts A LOT on the music channels because I find it makes very good background music for revision/work. However, for a couple of songs I just can't help but sing along...

10. Iggy Azalea- Change Your Life (Feat. T.I)

Now this song is new in the charts this week, so I haven't heard it much yet, but without being rude it's not really my thing, too there's much rap and not enough tune. But on the plus side she is sooo pretty and really tall, I'm so jealous:P

9. Conor Maynard- R U Crazy

Now initially I absolutely hated this song for 2 reasons: 1) the use of R U instead of Are You, people just shouldn't do that, and 2) it's very repetitive. The more I heard the song, the more annoyed I got, and then it got to a point where I actually began to like the song. It may be due to the fact that I've seen Conor Maynard many times on 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' and really liked him, so I wanted  to like the song or may genuinely be an awesome song, I can't decide:P However, when I found out today that the song had fallen 5 place, I was secretly very upset!

8. Wilkinson- Afterglow

Again, another new song this week that I've barely heard, but I think I like it. The video is quite funny to watch and it is a very catchy tune, but I swear I've heard her voice somewhere before, but I really can't remember. But anyway, yes, a good new addition to the charts I think.

7. Eminem- Berzerk

YESSSS!!!! Words cannot describe how happy I am that this song is falling through the charts, I hate it. I have total respect for Eminem because he is really good at rapping, I just cannot stand it. I like songs in which it is possible to sing along and belt out at the top of your voice when you're alone, and while you could also argue that this song does have a chorus, it's still not really my thing. In this song he says about a thousand words a minute (okay, I'm guessing) and i really can't keep up. I'm bored of hearing this song if I'm honest, there is only one song from 2013 that I hate more, Tinie Tempah- Trampoline, literally don't get me started about it!

6. Katy Perry- Roar

I go through phases of loving Katy Perry. I never used to like her until Blaine and the Warblers on Glee did a cover of Teenage Dream which was AMAZING, and since then I always give her new songs a go. I do quite like Roar, although the video does annoy me a bit (but the official lyrics video is pretty cool), the song is very catchy, easy to sing along to, and I can totally understand why it has been in the charts for quite a while.:)

5. Eminem- Rap God

Here he is again. You know my views:P This song is new so it hasn't annoyed me as much yet, and he doesn't yet have a video, so it's hardly played on any channel, which is good news! Man, I feel so harsh:/

4. James Blunt- Bonfire Heart

Ajiosdhlfjsdkfn- literally one of my new favourites. This song is so good! The whole album came out today and I will definitely be buying it, I can't wait to hear all the other songs. I have all of James Blunts albums, I love his unique voice, and how he has his own style of music, well, sort of. The song has quite an old feel to it, which I find really refreshing compared to everything else out there at the moment, and ahhhh, words really cannot describe, just go listen to it!!

3. Lawson- Juliet

I'm going to be honest here and say I'd never actually listened to Lawson before I heard this song. I had it in my head that he did pop/rap songs, which really isn't my thing, so when I actually heard this song today it was a nice surprise. They kind of remind me of the Wanted, which I suppose is a good thing, and I love how they're dressed, so from this song I definitely like Lawson, I'm yet to listen to the rest of their songs though....

2. Miley Cyrus- Wrecking Ball

I was initially very put off this song due to all the bad reviews I'd heard and the fact that my friend liked the song, and we have COMPLETELY different tastes in music. I also watched a DailyGrace video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=837UVKLDomw), where she says the word Africa every time she feels awkward watching the video, and she ends up saying Africa a lot. But as soon as you look past the fact that she's swinging around on a ball with hardly any clothes on, or just listen to the song with out the video you can actually begin to see that it is quite a good song. I'm not going to go all out and say it's one of my new favourites, but she does sing it extremely well, and you can tell that it actually means something to her. I used to absolutely love Miley Cyrus when she was in Hannah Montana, and even though it wasn't very cool to download her music I still did because, admittedly I was a bit addicted, and I don't care about anything she's done recently, because it's completely up to her how she acts, but it really does pain me that she cut off her hair because it was BEAUTIFUL, and I still aspire to have hair like that. Woah, that felt like a long and rambly sentence.

1. OneRepublic- Counting Stars

Now this is a good song. I've never really listened to OneRepublic much, in fact the only other song I know is 'Stop and Stare', but I really must give them a go because this is a good song. It was my birthday recently, and I had a cocktail party on Friday, and after a few my friend and I had this on repeat and wouldn't stop singing it, it's great! I don't really understand the video, why are they in a warehouse? But other than that I really cannot fault it, I hope it stays at number one for a while, because they certainly deserve it!

So there we go, I'm certainly surprised at how many of these songs I actually like:P I may have to start listening to chart music more often because I guess I'm missing out! I also just want to say how upset I am that the Vamps are no longer in the top 10 (love them!) Leave a comment and give your opinion on these songs, and say which ones you've been downloading. I'm thinking of doing a winter essentials post next week, so let me know if you think that's a good idea and if there is anything you think I should include:) For now, byeeeeeee:))

PINTEREST BOARD #1

Hey Guys:) About a year ago I was introduced to the wonderful world of Pinterest, where you can follow different boards and search for different pictures and 'Pin' them to your own boards so you can see them whenever you want. I have decided that occasionally I will share one of my boards with you and show you the kind of pictures I pin to it. The boards I currently have are: TV, Films, Harry Potter, Disney, Quotes, Craft, Food and Funny. (I also have Prom Hair, but I don't need that any more!). But this week I decided I'd show you some of the things I post on a wall called Katie and Emily, which is where my sister and I share pictures we think the other would like...

Disney logic

Me and my sister both absolutely LOVE Disney, and my sister's favourite is Tarzan, even though it was a box office flop, so whenever she sees anything Tarzan-related she gets very excited!(she secretly just loves everything Phil Collins does). This was prime example of how great Disney logic is:')

Whatever Floats Your Goat

I found this one quite funny, 1) because it's a hilarious photo and 2) we have an obsession with goats, ever since we went camping when we were little and I got to carry a baby goat to it's bed in the barn.

Doctor Scratchy Von Litter ;)

I thought this was cute and funny so I decided to share it. After I pinned this, the next day I went around asking everyone the last number of their phone number, their star sign and their favourite colour, just so I could work out their cat name, I found it quite amusing! My cat name was Doctor Scratchy Von Litter, what's yours?

im dying....
I love the Lord of the Rings and Science, so when I saw the two combined it made me laugh so much:P I think I liked this one so much that I went and posted it on Instagram as well.

LotR/Mean Girls
Hahaha, whoever decided to combine Lord of the Rings and Mean Girls is an absolute genius!

Well... That is fantastic!
I thought this was such a cool fact and I always forget it even though I love both of these films. However this does mean that whenever I look at this board and see this, it feels like I'm learning the fact again for the first time^.^ I love finding out interesting facts as well because I feel really smart when I can wow people with my weird amazing knowledge in the future (even though I forget most of the things I read.)

And. Sometimes I clean a little one so I still don't have to use a big one! :)
This is me. I never ever ever ever use a spoon larger than a tea spoon unless it's for measuring when baking. I just hate it. I love using teaspoons because it means you don't eat as much at once, so your food lasts longer, which I love! I take this A LOT further and only use certain teaspoons for certain meals, e.g. my stripy one is for breakfast, the one with the extra thin handle is for yogurts, etc, but I am extra weird when it comes to eating food, I'll admit that. I'm that annoying person who can't eat anything normally://

There we go, I haven't shown you  everything on the board because some of the pictures are really long, but if you like Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Castle, etc, or really cute pictures then you can check out the rest of the board here because you'll probably enjoy it:
Or if you fancy checking out or following any of the boards I mentioned at the top you can find them here:
Comment below if you liked this blog post idea, and if you did, say what board you would like to see some of next time or tell me your Pinterest names so I can check your boards out! So for now, byeeeeeeee:))

What To Do When You're Locked Out

Hey Guys:) So today I finished Sixth Form at 2:45pm, I walked home happy as ever until I got to the door and thought 'ah damn', I'd forgotten my key. I personally blame my dad who was apparently meant to be working from home today, so was in when I left the house in the morning, meaning there was no need for me to lock the door, but then when I got home he wasn't in. I didn't get into the house until 5:45pm, that's 3 whole hours spent locked out in the cold English weather and I didn't have a coat or jacket, not good! I know this happens to a lot of people quite often, and it's soooooooo annoying, so here's a few things you can do to keep yourself entertained if this ever happens to you...

1. Text your friends non stop so you're not the only annoyed one.

Lets face it, we're all human beings, so we all feel a bit better when we know other people are slightly suffering as well. Your situation may still be worse than theirs, as all they have to do is ignore you and do something else, but you'll surely have fun for a short while.

2. If you have Internet on your phone stalk people you hate on Instagram and laugh at how silly they are, and then complain about how rubbish your life is at the moment because you can't get in your own home on Facebook.

Lets face it, Instagram is always useful for passing time, and looking at how awful all the slags in your year look in their 'selfies' is fun where ever you are. As for complaining on Facebook, sympathy status Likes are always nice, right?

3. If you have a dog, walk it.

This is what I did. It was actually quite a fun walk because in my mind I knew I had nothing better to be doing at home. However it was very quiet as my iPod was in my house D:D:D:

4. Pick leaves off the trees and try to peel them to make fun pictures.

I found this quite tricky, so it kept me entertained for ages as it tried to make the perfect star out of a leaf.

5. Find some sticks and go around hitting things to make tunes.

This made up for me not having my iPod as I simply made my own music and secretly I actually found this really fun and I want to go out and to it again (shhh). I think my rendition of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' was pretty good actually;)

6. Try and build a fort from chairs and gardening tools you find in your shed.

It didn't take me very long to give up on this idea as it was a complete failure, but if your imaginative and good at DIY I totally think this idea is worth giving a go! Just don't drop a chair on your toe, it's not fun, just saying.

7. Call your sibling up and make them talk to you for half an hour.

I don't think my sister was best pleased by this, but I wont see her for a while so it's fine she wont be annoyed with me. XD.

8. Take your own 'Selfies'.

Ironically of course. But let's face it (see what I did there cx), when isn't taking photos of yourself pulling stupid faces fun?

9. Every time someone walks past the top of your drive laugh hysterically.

You'll get some proper funny looks I can guarantee, buts it's absolutely hilarious. Hopefully it's only strangers or people you know really well that walk by, or that could be awkward the next time you see them...

10. And if all else fails you can always try and watch TV through your neighbors window.

Jokes, I didn't try and do this. But if you really are the type of person who cannot go half an hour without watching something on the TV I recon this is worth a go. (I just watched YouTube on my phone:P)

So there we are, now you know what to do when you're locked out so you don't die of boredom. Comment below of what you do when you get locked out, or if you have any fun ideas to help us all out. For now, Goodbye my friends!

30 THINGS ABOUT ME

Hey Guys:) So I thought to get my blog going a bit I might post more than one time a week sometimes in order to give you guys some more interesting stuff to read. I thought I'd take this opportunity to let you get to know me a bit better as I've posted quite a few times now, but you don't know that much about me...

1. My favourite foods are cereal and bagels.
Yep. I love carbs.

2. My favourite TV programme is House.
I love smart people, and House is so smart and observant and knows pretty much everything (like Sherlock, which I also love!), and the fact that he lacks any social skills what-so-ever makes it quite funny as well.

3. I am 17 years old.
That's a lie, but I will be 17 on Tuesday:)

4. I am in my first year of Sixth Form and I'm studying Biology, Chemistry, History and Maths.
It's hard and lots of work, meh.

5. I'm very scared of plasters and I scream if I actually touch one.
Literally even the thought of them makes me physically sick.

6. I have one sibling.
She's my older sister called Emily and she is 19.

7. I have exactly 262 'friends' on Facebook.
That's probably not that much but to me it seems so weird that I actually know that many people O.o

8. I love wearing skirts and jumpers.
My absolute favourite items of clothing.

9. I put cheese on pretty much everything I eat.
Mmmmmmmmm, I LOVE cheese.

10. I have to walk my dog twice a day, once before Sixth Form and once after.
But I don't mind. Unless it rains, then I mind. But my dog is sooo cute, he is a little black Cocker Spaniel called Jasper.

11. I am a vegetarian.
I just love the challenge of not eating meat, and to me it seems like an accomplishment that I haven't eaten meat in such a long time.

12. I have read every Harry Potter book at least 10 times.
I used to be obsessed with the series and read all of them lots, and then when I was about 12 I went through a phase where I would read the whole series and then when I finished the 7th book I would start the whole series again. I never got bored, that's how AMAZING the books are!

13. I so prefer Autumn and Winter to Summer.
I love the fact that in Winter you can just wrap up warm all the time and put a coat on and it doesn't really matter what you're wearing underneath. I also love the dark and neutral tones that are always around in winter instead of all the pastel and neon which is usually around in summer. (Woah that makes me sound really boring!)

14. I have never cried at a film.
I just don't find films emotional because in my mind I can never believe it is happening in real life. I think I just have a really bad imagination.

15. I got 13 GCSE's and 9 of them were A*s.
Some people call me a nerd. It just annoys me when people go to school and don't want to learn, I just feel like if I'm going to be there I may as well try:P

16. My favourite bands are Green day and Noah and the Whale.
Dependent on what mood I'm in depends on what I listen to.

17. I am subscribed to 64 channels on YouTube.
That's not too many I suppose, I recently had to cut down on who I watch because I literally don't have time in my life to watch so many new videos.

18. My favourite girls name in Evanna.
I think this name is beautiful and the actress who plays Luna Lovegood is called Evanna Lynch in real life, and she too is beautiful.

19. My favourite boys name is Jonah.
It's a tight call between Jonah (<3) and Harry (for Harry Potter, Harry Judd, etc.) but i think Jonah just about wins.

20. I LOVE Disney.
As a child I loved Disney films. And I still do! All the old classics are the best, but even the new additions to the Disney film collection are still amazing. I love the feature length animations, wow, just wow.

21. I have an obsession with sticking things to may wardrobe to make a collage.

22. When I was younger I used to watch the film Matilda on repeat.
The film version of Roald Dahl's book Matilda used to be my all time favourite, I guess I used to wish I could have powers like Matilda and I was always jealous of Brucie being able to eat that whole chocolate cake, what a legend!!

23. There are 3 floors in my house, but it is only the height of a 2 storey house because it is split level.
Granted that sounds very confusing, I may one day do a post on it because its quite weird. In French class I once had to to describe my house and I had to put a note at the side to say my house was laid out really weird because I thought otherwise she may just think I didn't know what I was talking about.

24. My favourite colour is orange.
I've always had an obsession with it, as you can tell from my 10 Things I Love post.

25. I am in love with Nate Ruess.
For those of you who don't know he is the lead singer of the band FUN. I love him for 3 simple reasons, he has such a unique and amazing voice, he dresses wonderfully in shirts all the time (and sometimes braces<3) and he is quite hot;)

26. My favourite number is 5.
I think this was just a random thing I used to say when people used to ask me what my lucky number was, and I've just stuck with it ever since and I have grown to love it weirdly enough.

27. I absolutely love quizzes.
Especially the quiz website Sporcle, and my favourite TV quiz show is Pointless, where you have to try and pick the least well-known answer and the lowest score wins, and in the final round you have to guess an answer that non of the 100 people they asked guessed.

28. The last thing I went to see in the cinema was Smurfs 2.
Yeah that was a really weird date.

29. My favourite film franchise is the Lord of the Rings.
I have watched these films countless times. When we were really little and weren't allowed to watch the films me and my sister bought the Top Trump cards and memorized them so we knew who all the characters were before we even watched the film.

30. I can recite the whole first verse of the elements song.
I learnt that over a year ago, and I've been 'working on the rest' ever since.

And there we have it again. I was originally going to do 50 Things About Me, but I began to think the post was going on a bit too long so I cut it a bit shorter:) Let me get to know things about you in the comments if you want, or just say if you love any of the things I love too:) So until Monday my friends, byeeeeeeee:))
