MY AUTUMN ESSENTIALS!

Hey Guys:) So I know this isn't a very original idea and this isn't exactly a fashion blog (It's an everything blog!), but I absolutely LOVE clothes and I have a mini addiction to buying them as well, so as I post a variety of different things I thought a good 'Autumn Essentials' post would fit in nicely as it starts to get colder here in the UK! This week I thought I'd show you what I think everybody needs in their Autumn wardrobe, this style may not be to everyone's taste, but they are things that I love and wear everyday, and things that I think look great on everyone...

1. Pinafores:

I think having a range of pinafores in your wardrobe is absolutely essential, as it means you can mix and match with lots of shirts and jumpers to make so many different outfits. Pinafores are extra good for the cold seasons as you can layer so much underneath and put coats on top to stop you getting cold, whilst maintaining a cute appearance, AND you can also keep them out for summer^.^

2. Brogues:

Everyone seems to think the only shoes you can wear in winter are boots and wellies, and while I love a nice pair of boots my opinion is that aside from sandals or flip flops, anything is suitable for winter. EVERYONE was wearing brogues a few years back, but you don't see as many around anymore:( However, I still love them as I think they match anything. You can wear them with skirts/dresses (tights or no tights, but remember it is winter), jeans, etc. They look really cute with a pair of frilly socks or woolen tights, but you can still make them look great even if that's not your style, AND they look good on guys or girls. I also love how you can get them with or without heels, so they are suitable for any occasion!

Whilst we're on the subject of shoes I just want to also put it out there how much I am loving Dr Marten style shoes at the moment. I personally love just plain black ones as they are safe and go with anything. I know real Dr Martens are very expensive, but you pick pick up look-a-likes very cheap off the internet, or I recently got some for £12 from Primark, and they have lasted immensely well:

3. Jumpers:

Wow that sounded plain and simple. It pretty much is though. I think that anyone can make pretty much any jumper work. My absolute favourite style at the moment is a shirt and jumper with a simple necklace (I'm lucky enough to have my grandma's old sovereign which I wear with practically everything). You can wear it with jeans for a really casual look, but I'm not a big fan of trousers, so my personal fave is with a nice denim or floral skirt.

How cool does this wardrobe look though!?!...

Christmas jumpers are always a win as well:

4. Boyfriend Coat:

I think this style of coat is great as you can put them on over any outfit without really worrying about whether it will match. They make you look elegant yet casual, so are great for any occasion whilst keeping you nice and toasty warm. I like how they only have a few,if not one, button as it means they are easy to put on in a hurry but are still very practical. Many people at the moment are raving about light pink, and apparently a light pink boyfriend coat is a must have, but I personally don't like them, but lots of people dp, so if you enjoy sticking to trends then go for it! I'm personally still on the lookout for a nice tartan coat in this style, so any suggestions would be greatly welcomed!

5. Woolen Tights:

Ahhhhh, I think any woolen tights look great! They can be patterned or any colour, but when matched with a simple skirt or dress and a pair of brogues or loafers they look great!

So there we go, that's my autumn essentials done. Now I know in autumn that people like to wear trousers as it's getting colder. Like I said above I don't really like wearing trousers as I find them quite uncomfortable as my legs feel trapped whereas when I'm wearing a skirt and tights they feel much more, for want of better words, 'free'. But anyway on the off day that I do wear trousers I tend to go for acid wash/ skinny jeans. I find they're are great for anyone as they can match a more 'grungy' look with a leather jacket and boots or creepers (I personally LOVE creepers), but you can also just match it with a jumper or coat for a more cute wintery feel. And that's it. Leave a comment telling me what your autumn favourites are, I'd love to hear about what you're wearing! Byeeeeeee:)

All the pictures in this post were from Tumblr. Go search Tumblr to find more winter styles, but don't go on for too long, because I promise you WILL become addicted;))
