MY FIRST...

Hey Guys:) So on YouTube a while back there was the My First tag, so I though I'd do my own My First post right here on Katie's Little Bit of Fun. I have taken all the ones that were on the YouTube tag and explained them all for you:).........

1. My first word:
Okay, so according to the book my mum kept when I was a child, my first word was 'LaLa', as in the yellow one from the Teletubies. I'm not quite sure this counts as it's not really a word, but I've asked my mum and she says she doesn't know what it was, so I guess we're just going to have to stick with 'LaLa'.

2. My first teddy:
The first teddy I can really remember having was a brown bear with a pink dress that I called Lucy. She was from the Bear Factory (that's what Build-A-Bear used to be called) and I used to love her so much. My sister and I used to have fights over whose bear was better, mine or hers, Mr. Beary (original name right there xD)

3. My first friend:
My first friend was a girl named Claire. We were best friends when we were in nursery but I haven't spoken to her for years now because when we had to start school I had to move away from all my nursery friends to a school which was closer to my home:(

4. My first crush:
I used to have a major crush on a boy called James who was in my year a school when I was younger. It was really weird, I remember once kissing him on the hand for a dare and everyone went crazy, and we once had a pretend wedding on the little hill at school where all my friends were my bridesmaids. Cute, right?:S

5. My first kiss:
When I was in year one my sister and her friend got her friends brother and me into a corner on the playground and put a hoop around us and through petals over us (like confetti) and we kissed each other on the lips. It was kind of forced, and really weird of our sisters to make us do it, but I guess it still counts!

6. My first celebrity crush:
I used to have a proper crush on Matt Willis from Busted and Orlando Bloom. I'm not quite sure which one I liked first, but I used to print pictures off (which used to annoy my dad because it was very expensive!) and stick love hearts around them and put them up on my wall. Wow.

7. My First Job:
Okay, so I've never really had a proper job and I'm 17. I know that is bad but it is certainly not for lack of trying. I do however help out at children's groups twice a week to give back to the community, so I guess you could count them as jobs.

8. My first CD:
The first CD I ever bought with my own money was S-Club 7: S-Club. I used to love all their songs and was really obsessed, my favourite member was Rachel Stevens and I basically wanted to be her when I grew up. I would sits there with my massive CD player and plug in my big headphones so no one else could hear it and listen to it on repeat.

9. My first car:
So I've been 17 for a couple of months now, and over here in the UK that is the legal age to drive. I got my provisional licence for my birthday, meaning I can have lessons whenever I get around to booking them (but I'm so unorganized that could be ages away!). When I can drive I will be able to use my sister/dad's joint car, which is a Citroen C2, so I suppose that will be my first car.

10. My first Facebook & Twitter posts:
My first Facebook post was on August 23 2009 and it said 'Leg Reely Hurts From Falling In Those Nettles Yesterday!'. I used to always start every word with a capitals letter, which looking back is stupid, and the way I have said 'Reely' is quite annoying. I don't remember falling in those nettles, but it must have been notable for me to Facebook about it as I hardly ever update my status. I was a very late to the Twitter bandwagon, with my first tweet being on June 18th 2012: 'Clearing your way through mounds of unread e-mails just to get out of revision...' , I'm such a cool kid;)

11. My first holiday:
My first holiday was down south in Britain to Swannage, Dorset. I was about two, so I don't remember it, but have seen a picture of me sat in the sea with my nappie on:P

Things I Believed When I Was Younger

Hey Guys:) I don't know about you but when I was a child I believed a lot of really weird things that turned out not to be true. I don't know whether my parents just made things up to keep me quiet because they couldn't be bothered to explain things to me, or whether I was just really gullible and believed everything I heard. Anyway, here are a few of the odd things I thought to be true......

1. If I wished so every night before I went to bed, I would become a wizard.

What can I say, I was so desperate to get my letter from Hogwarts that I would believe anything. Alas, it never happened, and I am still very upset:(

2. If I went onto the beach without my mum's permission I would sink into the sand.

I think my mum made this one up so I didn't run onto the beach when she wasn't looking, but I distinctly remember her telling me that the beach was sinking sand, and if I went on without her telling me to it would suck me into it.

3. If I opened my eyes when Santa was in my room he would take all my presents away again.

This one was actually very cunning of my parents. I guess they told it to me so I wouldn't look and realize it was them putting presents into my room. I'll always remember hearing Santa in my bedroom the night before Christmas one year, and squeezing my eyes shut and burying my head into my pillow so Santa wouldn't see I was awake and take my presents away. I feel so stupid now looking back at this!

4. If I even glanced at the sun I would go blind.

I must have got the wrong end of the stick onetime when someone was talking about being blinded by the sun. I tried my hardest to never even glance at the sun because I thought even that small amount of time would blind me. I remember one time I was on the monkey bars and I accidentally looked at the sun and I panicked so much and made mum take me home from the park. Sad times:(

5. If I dug a hole deep enough I could get to Australia.

I know a lot of people also used to think this until they learnt how the earth was actually structured. I think people just told kids this to keep them quiet for ages digging away. In primary school there was a mud pit, and because my parents worked late I had to stay at school for ages until someone could come and pick me up, so I spent a lot of time trying to get to Australia.

6. If I squeezed hard enough, I could lay an egg.

When I was reaaaaally young my dad told me to tense up and squeeze (like I was pooing but not) and he would get an egg and pretend it had come out of me. I must have been the most gullible person ever because I still had my clothes on, and the eggs had a best before date printed on them, so it was really quite unbelievable. I eventually realized how stupid I had been when I got a bit older. 

7. Cattle grids were temporarily installed for a festival.

Here in the UK we have cattle grids (basically bars over a hole which your legs can fall down) to stop cows escaping from their fields. It used to be part of the road on my way to nursery which we would drive over, and it would make us bump up and down, and I always used to ask mum what it was. Mum probably tried to explain it was due to foot and mouth disease or something like that, or about the cows escaping, but I somehow got it into my head that they were for a national festival and they would be removed soon when it was over... honestly, the weird things kids make up:P

8. You had to swallow peas whole.

My sister used to hate peas, and so when she was made to eat them she would just swallow them whole. This led me to believe that you HAD to eat them that way, so I always did, and it was not until I threw up one time and mum asked me why there was whole peas in there that I realized I didn't have to eat them that way.  

So that's all for now, there are plenty of other things I can think of that I used to believe when I was younger, but I feel the post is getting too long, so maybe I'll do a part two sometime in the future. There are also many other things that my parents used to trick me into doing when I was little, for instance my dad used to get me and my sister to race and say whoever gets there first is the 'sissy', so we used to race and whoever won would shout 'I'm the sissy, I'm the sissy'. When we found out what sissy actually meant we were so annoyed/embarassed, but now we just find it absolutely hilarious!
